Lafreniere Splash Park

Upon completion of the mural, we took a group photo of the Jefferson Art Guild artists. I took a panorama photo as well. It was sunny and hot that day.

Mural Painting at the Splash Park

Members of the Jefferson Art Guild helped paint the finishing touches on a tropical themed splash park at Lareniere Park in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. These photos were taken on March 25th, 2012.

Inerstellar Journey Into the Unknown

A month ago, an artist invited me to an art exhibit called "Interstellar Journey into the Unknown" at Bywater Art Lofts. I took an artist friend with me to see the exhibit. We had fun playing with the interactive displays.

The Shadow Booth

At the other end of the exhibit was a booth that remembered your shadow after a light was flashed. Where your shadow wasn't displayed green. It was a fun to try out
the booth.

Entering the Exhibit

A room at the entrance to the building had works on the walls as well as some on the floor. We took a look as we came in and as we exited. There were more people as
we left.

Parade of Costumes

Revelers in costumes stroll St. Charles Avenue waiting for the parades on Mardi Gras Day. Folks have cameras ready to photograph the best outfits.

Jefferson City Buzzards

The Jefferson City Buzzards is the oldest marching group Mardi Gras Day marching group. The membership is all male. Members of the organization hand out emblem dabloons. They also give out flowers in exchange for a kiss.

Irish Channel Corner Club

The Irish Channel Corner Club also marched downtown. This all male club dates back to 1918. Like the Buzzards, the members carry paper flowers.
