Two More Shots

Here are the last two shots from the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans courtyard. I enjoyed seeing some of the artistic details.

The Courtyard

While we were waiting to be seated, I ventured into the courtyard to snap some shots. There was a giant Christmas tree standing in the center. I walked around quickly because I knew I didn’t have a lot of time.

Gingerbread House

The entrance to the dining area consisted of a giant gingerbread house. The walls outside and inside were covered in gingerbread, frosting and gumdrops. Santa and The Sugar Plumb fairy greeted everyone at the front and later visited individual tables. A jazz trio took requests table by table. And there was even a balloon man to make animals shapes. The food selection was huge making it very hard to choose what dishes to try. It was a fun experience.

A Ritz-Carlton Christmas

This Christmas my family ventured downtown to the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. It faces Canal Street from the French Quarter side of the street. Many folks will recognize the building as the old Maison Blanche department store. I had not been to the hotel since it opened. So, I was excited to see what it was like.

Sky Trails

The trails left by two planes inspired me to take photos.

Flash Flooding

For several days it rained in the New Orleans area. Because the ground was already saturated with water, many areas were flooding. Last Monday night this was the scene on my street.

Reflected Oaks

For a number of days it has rained steadily. The ground has been saturated with water. Several parts of town have been flooded. I was driving in the back area of Audubon Park near the stables, when I saw these oaks reflected in pools of water.

A View of the Mississippi River

To the right of the landing is a sidewalk with benches and lampposts. I walked on over to sheltered spot at the other end. There are benches inside it.
