Art Show at the J. W. Marriot New Orleans

On Wednesday, November 16, I attended Lynne Cochran's art show at the J.W. Marriot New Orleans located at 614 Canal Street. It was the second art show I've attended in the space. The show was up only for that one night.

Art Show at The Esplanade

In addition to the Tribute Wall, the West Bank Art Guild had an art show on display on the first floor. Two of our artists sat with the screens on a rotating basis. Natural light illuminated the space from skylight above.

Tribute Reception

After all the formalities were over the artists and their guests enjoyed refreshments. The participating artists were congratulated with a complementary calendar that included images from the Tribute Wall. A framed list, of contributing artists, was on display as well.

The Unveiling

Finally came the time to take down the paper the hid the wall of paintings. The artists posed in front of their works. After the ceremonies and photos, the artists and their guests enjoyed a reception in a side space.

Bicentennial Celebration

The Esplanade and West Bank Art Guild coordinated the display of Louisiana themed artwork in honor of Louisiana's upcoming bicentennial celebration in 2012. Artists painted on wooden panels that were then mounted to a wall on the second floor right above the mall entrance to Target at The Esplanade.

Poydras Home Art Show

At the Poydras Home Art Show, my work was located in a closed in porch space. Natural light illuminated it bright colors. Yes, I painted dot paintings again this year.

Front Hall, Side Room and Dining Room

The majority of the inside artwork hung in the dining room and front hall. A side room was designated for a special photography show. Even before I arrived, some art had already sold.

Entering Poydras Home

The sign was on the fence with balloons. The gate on Magazine Street was decorated with balloon boquets. Tents were everywhere for the Annual Poydras Home Art Show.
