A New Board Sworn In

New Board members were called forward for their official induction. Each officer was handed a feather representative a specific bird. When all officers had accepted their positions, the president handed the official dinner bell to the new president. The guild uses a dinner bell instead of a gavel.

Thank You to the Outgoing Officers

On Wednesday, July 27, 2011, members of the Jefferson Art Guild gathered for an Installation Banquet at Smilie's Restaurant located at 5725 Jefferson Highway in Harahan, Louisiana. The president of the guild gave an annual report recalling all the accomplishments from the past year. She then thanked officers and appointed chairs for all their hard work.

Summer Art Show

Caroline Goodman organized this small group show of Louisiana artists called “Summer Art Show.” She included a varied assortment of artists in artists in the show. The exhibit is up through August 29, 2011. Going around the room clockwise, here are the artworks by each artist that participated in the show.

Summer Art Show is Up!

By 2 p.m. we finished hanging the show. Here are some overall pics of the show in the gallery space. The show went up pretty fast once we sorted out who's works went where.
