Restaurant and Gift Shop

Last stop on my journey was the restaurant and gift shop area. I was intrigued by a chemical cart fire extinguisher, sitting on a front lawn. Lastly, I looked at a map of the area that showed where three other plantations were located in relation to Oak Alley Plantation.

Machinery

From the lily pond I walked to my left. I wanted to check out some farm equipment used for harvesting sugar cane. The parts to the machines fascinated me. I slowly circled around to get a closer look.

Leaving the Main House

From the garden I returned to the circle in front of the main house. I retraced the path that brought me to the house. Again I passed the large oak tree on the right.

The Garden

Next I veered left to explore the garden adjacent to the main house.
I walked the pathways exploring one end to the other. There was gate at the other end.

The people who were sitting earlier were gone by now. It was well after
5 p.m. I was told that the grounds remain open until 10 p.m.

Walking Back to the Main House

After reaching the gate, I walked back towards the main house. I took photos of the house framed by the two columns of oak trees. The view was
so beautiful.

Oak Alley

People sat in chairs to take in the view. I passed by them as I walked a path to a gate at River Road. Along the way I shot photos of view in front of me.
