Krewe of Little Rascals on Veterans Boulevard

The Jerusalem Shriners lead the way for the annual Krewe of Little Rascals Parade on Veterans Boulevard on Sunday, February 20, 2011. A firetruck was followed by members in their red dune buggies. The parade featured numerous bands, cheerleaders, marching and dance organizations.

Captains, Kind and Queen

A Captains float rode by before long. The King and Queen shared float together. It rolled by not long after that.

Bands, Feathered Horse Riders and Voodoo

Bands were followed by some feathered horse riders and later a
voodoo float.

Volkswagen Beetles and Buses

The Volkswagen beetles and buses were fun to see in the parade. Several of them were very colorful.

Witch, Cowboys and Cowgirls

A lively witch float stood out. After a few dance groups passed, there was a group of cowboys and cowgirls on horses and wagons.

Please Watch for Motorcycles

Earlier in the week I had seen a bumper sticker with the message "Please Watch for Motorcycles." So I was interested to see a large sign with a trailer driving home the message.

Horses and Jack Sparrow

Most of my shots of floats showed the front end. So I figured I should shoot at least one of the back end. One horse from a group started acting up. Oh, and then there was Jack Sparrow walking in the parade.
