The Semolina restaurants have always had an arty touch. This one’s current décor is no exception. One Semolina Restaurant that faces I-10 suffered severe damage because of Katrina. It probably will not re-open. There are some other locations around the city.

Dining at Semolina's Italian Bistro
After the musical on Sunday, I joined my family at Semolina’s Italian Bistro. Semolina’s previously had a more world themed menu with pasta dishes from different cultures. Now, however, the menu has a more Italian emphasis – hence the new name of the restaurant. Some favorites from the other menu are included on this menu. Anyway, we have been enjoying dining there in recent months.

Murals on the Side of National Art and Hobby
There are three murals, by different artists, located on the side of National Art and Hobby. It’s much more fun than a solid white exterior.

I've met this artist, Frenchy. He attends live music performances and paints while musicians play. Thus he performs as well. He has a very expressionist style.
