The last parade of the evening was the Krewe of Muses. The all-female krewe used the theme "Dancing with the Muses" this year. See sketches of the floats here. Each float took a known name of a dance and created a witty twist in the name of satire.
Fleshing out the theme of "Dancing with the Muses" were the floats The BP Money Dance, The Jerk, The Vitterbug, The Robot and The Bump. Floats satirized local and national topics. No sides were safe.
Poll Booth Dancing continued the theme of dancing themes. Each year a float is included that features a rider's silhouette. The groups, Circus Art and Lady Godivas, followed.
The Lady Godivas wore costumes that make them look nude.
The Flying Elvi and Pussy Footers marched in between the floats below. A mailbox waits for a "Road Home Check." A large Mayor Mitch Landrieu stands on the front of another float.
The Saints, recycling and FOX news were the themes of the floats at this point in the parade. They were interspersed with lively costumed marching groups. Many of them are regulars in the Muses parade.
At the other end of Jenna Street there were some booths each featuring coffee brands. They were participating in a Coffee Festival. A blurb about it was included on a market sign I spotted on Napoleon Avenue. Before leaving, I circled back around the market to catch a few more of the tents.
