Waiting for the Parades Mardi Gras Day

Tuesday was an overcast Mardi Gras Day. Folks gathered for the Mardi Gras parade on Bonnabel in Metairie. Here’s a view looking north and south on Bonbbel. People were walking around, throwing balls and killing time until the parades arrive.

Normally on Monday afternoon people put down their tarps to claim spots along the parade route, this year they were forbidden. The man below wore a protest sign with “Missing My Blue Tarp” on it.

Krewe of Argus

Argus parades on Mardi Gras Day in Metairie. In New Orleans there is no advertising on floats. In Metairie there is and it is blatant.

Some of the Saints players rode in Argus on a float dedicated to the team.

The king was turned away from me, so I took a shot of the page.
