As I continued my journey, I kept photographing the tall cypress trees reaching for the sky. The sky was beautiful with few clouds. These were taken sometime after 3 p.m.
Blue skies combined with the tall cypress trees made this my favorite part of the green trail. There were plenty of large roots to photograph as well. A few times I had to remind myself to look where I was stepping.
Before I knew it, I had made full circle - hence the “loop.” So this time I chose the green trail, also known as Old NAD Trail. I never did find out what “NAD” is.
As I entered this part of the trail there was a canal along one side. Just as I made this turn an egret spotted me and flew off. It was feeding at the giant bird feeder.
Here are some more shots I took as I walked the Upland Loop Trail. I made a point of waiting until I found interesting spots to take photos. Some parts seemed monotonous.
Even though I had my hat, I still appreciated the shady spots along the trail. It was rather hot that afternoon. Also, I had rubbed on some sunscreen to protect my skin.
