The ticket lobby gives on to a grand corridor of insect displays and giant sculptures. A mechanical flying dragon fly circles overhead. There was quite a bit to take in all at once. I enjoyed seeing the ant tunnels.
This is very interesting. Are the bugs in the first photo real? It's amazing how many different museums there are and the variety of things to be displayed. Awesome. If I'm ever in New Orleans, I will definitely check this out.
I'm a little confused about which photo you mean. The bottom photo of this post is a sculpture. Of the photos in the corridor, the enclosed glass display cases had living bugs and dead bugs contained in them.
The Insectarium just opened last year in New Orleans.
