This past weekend was the 18th Annual Poydras Home Art Show. At midday I went to see where my art was hung this year. Here are some shots of rooms from the show.
Earlier this week I met up with some friends who were in town. They wanted to see the Rebirth Brass Band performance at the Maple Leaf Bar. We arrived early and sat in the courtyard waiting for the band to play. Here are some photos from that night.
The first Saturday night in New Orleans is "Art for Art's Sake." It's the annual migration of art lovers from art gallery to art gallery with the final destination of a block party on Julia Street. Here are some night shots from that evening.
After I had visited the galleries, I again passed the installation by Cinema Reset. The floodlights gave the area a different feel. By then, there were a lot more people on Julia Street.
The night of Art for Art's Sake, a group calling themselves Cinema Reset hosted an installation that was streamed to the Contemporary Arts Center. An woman interacted with passersby. An article explains the installation here.
Upon completion of the mural, we took a group photo of the Jefferson Art Guild artists. I took a panorama photo as well. It was sunny and hot that day.
