Barking Trio

Their owner's home was flooded. They are staying with my neighbor. Barking is a team effort!

Boots

These boots were placed on a picket fence. I couldn't resist the shot.

Westwego Art Center

Hurricane Katrina did not harm this newly renovated building in Wetswego, LA. It is on the other side of the river from New Orleans. This weekend, the West Bank Art Guild is having its first show in the building.

Upstairs there is a classroom/meeting room/workshop room. Downstairs there are three gallery spaces.

My fellow artists are very excited about the new art center.

This is a dump site near the beginning of Veterans Boulevard in Lakeview. I'm sure it reaches above sea level.

Fog

We haven't had rain since I've been back. It has been dry. Today we had fog and we're getting more tonight.

Post Katrina

In the New Orleans area we talk about the "NEW NORMAL." Some things are bouncing back and other things are gone for good. People are in an odd daze adjusting to the way things are now.

These are shots of garage and my house. I was very lucky. I had no water inside and I was able to keep my fridge.

Many folks lost everything and are gone. Others are stressed by the hurdles they face.

We're taking things day by day.
