ARTinA (Art in Algiers) began eleven years ago. In the first year the organization held an art festival in conjunction with the Algiers Point Association (APA) Home Tour. The thinking was that the two events would benefit from each other. Since Katrina, ARTinA has had to scale down what it does. For the second time ARTinA held a show at Mt. Olivet Episcopal Church. ARTinA’s artists hung art on both sides of the fence surrounding the church property. Fortunately there was no rain. Last year the show was rained out shortly after it was set up.
Now that I know what area of the churchyard stays shaded, I can plan for it. I didn’t sell anything, but it was a pleasant day Saturday.
