Mardi Gras Day 2008

So what’s the best way to catch a lot of loot at Mardi Gras? Just show your enthusiasm and the riders will reward you. Among the trophies caught by this group: a whip and a Peewee Herman doll. They partied next to my group on Mardi Gras Day.

In Metairie, Mardi Gras Day starts a bit later in the day. I can sleep later and not have to be at the parade route until close to noon. To see the parades in New Orleans, on Mardi Gras, I’d have to be parked by 6 a.m. I’d rather sleep and then have a relaxing afternoon.

This year the parades ran a little late in Metairie. The sun played hide-and-seek as you will notice in the pictures I post. Yes I was sunburned before the parades finished. The forecast was for rain, but we lucked out.
